Fundraising in schools

Fundraising in schools offers children a positive opportunity to help others, build group cooperation, learn about charitable organisations and have fun making a difference!

There are many ways your school can help raise money for the QEHB Charity. Below is a helpful list of interesting fundraising ideas to get you started, but we are of course more than happy to support you with your own creative ways of raising funds!

Please contact Sian Averill on 0121 371 4852 if you would like help organising an event or would like a representative from the Charity to visit your school and talk about our work.

Quiz – Classes could challenge each other in a school quiz or perhaps the school could organise one for grown-ups to attend and pay £5 per team to enter. The Charity has a limited number of prizes available but you could also source them from local businesses.
Easter egg hunt in the school grounds – pay £1 to enter. Alternatively children could make Easter cards or bonnets to sell to grown-ups.
Halloween – make a donation to come in to school in fancy dress and encourage the teachers to dress up too!
Organise a bring and buy sale, bingo night or BBQ.
Make like Mary Berry and get cooking for a cake sale! Alternatively hold an evening of carol singing or organise a car wash.
Head shave – see if a parent, teacher or pupil will do a sponsored head shave!
Arts and crafts - encourage pupils to make artworks to sell to grown-ups – perfect for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas gifts!
Raffle - ask local businesses and/or parents to donate items to raffle off.
International Day - encourage children to bring a dish in from around the world to have at break or lunch. Teachers/pupils make a donation to eat a piece/share a slice.
Tug of War challenge - will parents or teachers win? Or hold an ‘Insert School Name’ Has Talent! show. Encourage pupils and teachers to enter.
Yo-yo competition – who can keep their yo-yo going the longest?
